Storforsen

We've taken a diversion of the route to visit the mighty Storforsen which is Europe's largest untamed stretch of white water.

The rapids drop 82m over a distance of just 5km leading to some wild white water.

The water flows at an average of 800 m3 per second - some times of year this increases to over 1200 m3/sec - that's a lot of water!

We've never seen anything this wild.

Apparently you can take a trip down the rapids in an inflatable boat - we didn't see anyone brave (or daft) enough.
