Silfar Canyon

This morning we're continuing east and have stopped en-route to see Silfar Canyon. Again, not easy to find as there are no signposts and even when we drove up the steep dirt track to a parking area there was nothing apart from an earth closet toilet and a sign about fishing permits!

Following our noses (and the sound of water) we were pleased to find the canyon surprisingly close to where we'd parked.


This is one of Europe's deepest canyons - unexpected as there's nothing to see from the nearby road.
 

Note the sturdy footwear - essential for exploring in Norway! You can tell we're in a non-EU country (Health & Safety - what's that?)
