Westkapelle

This morning we decided to take the scenic route around the West coast of Walcheren before heading North to the island of Schouwen Duiveland. We stopped en-route at Westkapelle to admire the famous sea wall which was blown up by the Allies in 1944 when they liberated Walcheren.

Lovely long sandy beaches, backed by sand dunes, but too damn cold and wet to sunbathe!

The old church tower which was made into a lighthouse.

A Sherman tank commemorating the liberation on Walcheren.
