Kiki heads to the Netherlands

To start our next adventure, we took the 23:59 ferry from Dover last night and landed in Dunkirk at 3am local time. We parked in the ferry terminal parking area and went to bed. Later this morning we hit the road and were soon in Belgium where we filled up with fuel at a very reasonable €1.13/litre!

Welcome to Belgium... and its raining!

We continued north following the coast, stopping at a deserted Middelkerke for lunch followed by a walk along the promenade.

 Strange sculptures along the promenade

This evening we're parked in the Zwin nature reserve which is on the edge of the village of Knokke-Heist. This is the view from Kiki.

The rain has stopped so we've gone for a walk along the edge of the dyke. I found a hole so had to explore - fortunately there was no leak!
Unbeknown to us, as we walked along the path, we actually crossed into the Netherlands. I only realised because I received a "welcome" text on my phone!

As the sun went down the natives came to see Kiki.
