Guadix

After visiting Los Millares we drove north via Tabernas, the only desert in Europe, where believe it or not it was actually raining!

We stopped to look around Guadix which is famous for it's Troglodyte quarter with over 2000 houses built into caves. Initally they look like normal houses but on closer inspection they are actually only fronts of houses with the rooms being cut into the rocks.

The only evidence of some of the houses are the front door and white chimneys sprouting from the rocks!
