The Alhambra, Granada

Today we're visiting the Alhambra in Granada. This palace-fortress with it's gardens and the summer residence, the Generalife is the best-preserved medieval Arab palace in the world.

The Palacio de Carlos V is somewhat out of place next to the Nasrid palaces - this is however one of the most outstanding examples of Renaissance architecture in Spain.

Entry to the Alcazaba is through this rather fine gateway
